COVID 19 AND BUSINESS UNUSUAL
It’s been a strange few weeks for most of us in the UK. By now, the fortunate among us are settling into some form of ‘new normal’ and doing our best to keep it together. At Kashmiri Tea House that means working from home, reducing order fulfillment days to once a week and trying to figure out how to unlearn the entrepreneurs instinct to create a plan A/B/C/D for every next step.
But in reality we all know someone who is struggling a bit more than ourselves - that’s why we’ve committed to donating 15% of profits during the lock down to charities that are working to support those disproportionately affected by Covid-19.
A list of charities we'll be donating 15% of our profits to over April & May
“After 18-hour shifts trying to save our lives from COVID-19, NHS Hospital Staff are faced with canteens that shut at 5pm. We’re giving you the power to directly feed medical staff at local hospitals from your home. You donate meals. We order from local restaurants. Hospital staff eat. Tonight.”
“Providing free meals for the vulnerable and needy in the UK. The kitchen is free and open to all, serving 100 hot, nutritious meals twice a day, seven days a week.”
“The NHS Trust is under increased pressure during the current coronavirus pandemic, supporting people with challenging mental health conditions, and staff are going above and beyond to make sure that this high quality care continues during uncertain times.”
“In response to the COVID19 emergency Made In Hackney has paused its community cookery classes to launch a temporary direct to door, free meal delivery service for our communities most vulnerable members.”
How else can you help during Covid-19?
Outside of donating 15% from our profits, we’re also supporting by sending bottles of our Botanical Cold Brew to teams on the front line - because if you’re working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week; you need someone to look after you too.
You can do the same - check out the work by Cook-19 who are delivering meals to NHS workers that are self-isolating.
Stay safe, stay home, protect the NHS and each other - save lives.
